Accessibility Statement
SafeGear Workwear Supply Inc. is committed to making safegear.ca usable by as many people as possible, and to serving all customers in an accessible way — in the spirit of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Last updated: 29 July 2026
We believe protective equipment and the information about it should be within reach of everyone. That belief extends to our website and to the way we serve customers at the counter, on the phone and on site.
Our commitment
SafeGear is committed to providing a website and customer experience that respect the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. We aim to give people with disabilities the same opportunity to access our products and services, in a similar way, as everyone else. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time task, and we review it as the site and our services change.
Conformance target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, the internationally recognised standard referenced by Ontario’s accessibility regulations. WCAG explains how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive and neurological disabilities.
What we’ve done so far
Accessibility considerations built into this website include:
- Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure and clearly labelled navigation and page regions.
- A “Skip to content” link so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass the header.
- Full keyboard operability, with a clearly visible focus outline on links, buttons and form fields.
- Text and interface colours chosen to provide strong contrast against their backgrounds.
- Descriptive
alttext on meaningful images, and decorative images marked so assistive technology can ignore them. - Form fields with associated labels, and status messages announced to assistive technology.
- A responsive layout that reflows for small screens and supports text resizing and zoom without loss of content.
- Respect for the “reduce motion” setting, so animations are minimised for people who prefer that.
- Content that does not rely on colour alone to convey meaning.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware that accessibility is a moving target and that issues can arise as content is added or as assistive technologies evolve. If you find a barrier that is not listed here, please tell us — your feedback helps us prioritise fixes.
Accessible customer service
Our commitment is not limited to the website. If it is easier for you, we are glad to provide product information, quotes and support by phone or email, and to make reasonable arrangements so you can access our products and services. Just let us know what works best for you.
Feedback — we want to hear from you
